Russia has not received any debt restructuring proposals from Ukraine - dep. minister

MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Russia has not received any proposals from Ukraine yet concerning the restructuring of Kyiv's $3 billion debt, Russian Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Storchak said.

"We need an official proposal. But there aren't even any unofficial ones. And we need an official one, because this is no joke; this is, after all, the obligations of a sovereign. We hope that common sense will prevail and, despite the fact that we're in the process of court or pre-court proceedings, nonetheless, we're always ready to sit down at the negotiating table to move forward in order to try to reach an agreement," Storchak told reporters.

Speaking about the possibility of filing a lawsuit, Storchak said that "there is a plan, it is being fleshed out, it's not public; I don't like deadlines, this is a question of legal practice."
