Russian current account surplus widens 12.7% to $65.8 bln in 2015 - Central Bank
MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Russia's current account surplus widened 12.7% to $65.8 billion in 2015, from $58.4 billion in 2014, the Central Bank said in a balance of payments estimate, posted on its website.
The surplus increased a result of a significant decrease in the negative contribution by the balance of services and investment income, including a decrease in external debt servicing payments based on total external debt reduction, the Central Bank said.
The current account surplus rose 73.3% to $13 billion in Q4 2015, from $7.5 billion in Q3 2015.
The financial account deficit more than halved to $61.1 billion in 2015, not including reserve assets, from $130.2 billion in 2014. It rose to $3.1 billion in Q4 from $2.4 billion in Q3 2015.
