Temporary budget constraints must not be obstacle for small business development - Putin

MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax) - The economic situation that has taken shape must not become a serious obstacle to small business, particularly the flow of qualified specialists into that area, President Vladimir Putin said.

"Of course, every effort must be bent in order to maintain stability in the small business area, so that temporary economic and budget constraints do not become barriers to the flow of a large number of educated, forward-looking, enterprising people into this area," Putin said at a small business forum on Wednesday.

The authorities continue forming institutions to support small business, its forward progress, such as the small and medium enterprise corporation, "where tools for supporting business - financing, legal assistance, informational, marketing - are concentrated," Putin said. "It must become a sort of headquarters for resolving questions and problems that arise, for everyone engaged in small and medium business," he said.
