Gryzlov not barred from Ukraine - Ukrainian Security Service

KYIV. Jan 20 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has said that it did not impose an entry ban on Boris Gryzlov, the Russian representative in the Trilateral Contact Group, who visited Kyiv last week.

"The SBU made no decision to ban Russian citizen Boris Vyacheslavovich Gryzlov from entering Ukraine," the SBU said in its reply to a query from Apostrophe, an online news outlet, which posted a copy of the reply on its website.

The Russian representative was in Kyiv on January 11 to meet with the Group's Ukrainian representative, Leonid Kuchma.

Ukrainian parliamentarian Ihor Lutsenko (Batkivshchyna Party) had asked the SBU to explain on what grounds Gryzlov had been allowed to enter Ukraine despite being sanctioned by the European Union and Canada.
