Russia has 0.99 million officially registered jobless - Labor Ministry
MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax) - The number of officially registered jobless in Russia as of January 13 was 990,000 people; the number of vacancies claimed by employers was 1.2 million, a report on the government website says quoting the Labor Ministry at a regular session of the interdepartmental working group for monitoring the situation on the labor market chaired by Vice Premier Olga Golodets.
According to the Labor Ministry, 321,000 more employees are expected to be dismissed.
There has also been a decline in the number of people working shorter hours or a shorter working week, from 275,000 people at the end of December to 255,000 as of January 13.
