Lavrov to partake in Munich Security Conference - source

MOSCOW. Jan 21 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will attend the 2016 Munich Security Conference.

"Indeed, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will participate in the Munich Security Conference this year," an informed source in Moscow told Interfax.

This year, the conference will be held in Munich on February 12-14.

Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov explained why President Vladimir Putin would not take part in the Munich Security Conference to the media on Thursday. "At the present time, this simply didn't match the opportunities provided by the president's current working schedule," he said.
