Ten new strategic, long-range bombers join Russian Aerospace Forces in 2015 - armed forces chief of staff
MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax-AVN) - Two new nuclear submarines and ten strategic and long-range bombers joined the Russian armed forces in 2015, Russian armed forces chief of staff Army Gen. Valery Gerasimov said.
"We have been receiving new weapons, new missiles. We have received two new missile-carrying strategic cruisers, the Alexander Nevsky and the Vladimir Monomakh, for our Navy. The industry has delivered ten modernized strategic bombers to the strategic nuclear air forces, namely [Tupolev] Tu-160s, Tu-95s, and Tu-22s," Gerasimov said on the Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel.
