Russian, Syrian diplomats discuss upcoming talks between Damascus, opposition

MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax) - The Russian President's Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, received Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad in Moscow on Friday.

"The conversation included a substantive discussion of preparations for the upcoming talks to be held in Geneva under the UN aegis between representatives of the Syrian government and the Syrian opposition," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
