UN doesn't comment on reports on possibility of Turkey leading Syria Support Group
MOSCOW. Jan 23 (Interfax) - The United Nations Organization has refused to comment on the information that Turkey has notified UN Secretary General's special envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura that it may leave the International Syria Support Group in the Kurds take part in the inter-Syrian negotiations in Geneva.
"We will not comment," a press officer for Staffan de Mistura told Interfax.
The Western media earlier reported that Turkey may leave the International Syria Support Group if Kurds take part in the inter-Syrian negotiations in the opposition delegation. The Turkish delegation led by Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu gave this warning to Staffan de Mistura in Davos at the beginning of this week.
