Armenia capable of restraining enemy in Karabakh conflict zone - deputy defense minister
YEREVAN. Jan 23 (Interfax) - Armenia has the resources necessary for creating a system of restraining the enemy in the Karabakh conflict zone, the country's First Deputy Defense Minister David Tonoyan said on Friday.
"Our resources are more than enough for creating a system of restraining the enemy [the Azerbaijan Armed Forces]. Our army has been trained. In terms of the geographic position and engineering equipment on the frontline, our army is domineering," Tonoyan said at a meeting with Armenian writers.
The situation on the Armenian-Azeri border "can no longer be called a truce violation," he said.
"More applicable would be the term 'military standoff'," Tonoyan said.
