OSCE PA to be held in Tbilisi in summer

TBILISI. Jan 27 (Interfax) - The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA) will meet in Tbilisi on July 1-5, Georgian Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili told reporters on Wednesday.

"It will be the most important event in Georgia, in the 25 years of its contemporary history. We expect delegations from 57 countries, and not only Europe, but also Asia and America, to attend the session. We are hoping to present Georgian issues more actively in the upcoming sessions," Usupashvili said.

Usupashvili said security remains the main problem for Georgia, and that the OSCE is the organization that is doing the most to ensure security worldwide.

A memorandum on holding a session of the OSCE PA in Tbilisi in July 2016, was signed by Usupashvili and OSCE Secretary General Roberto Montella on Wednesday.
