Corrected: Govt decisions have minimized risks from Ukraine-EU trade deal - Likhachev

(first para adjusted)

ST. PETERSBURG Jan 29 (Interfax) - The decisions the Russian government reached with respect to Ukraine over the enactment of the trade aspect of the association agreement with the European Union have proven their worth, First Deputy Economic Development Minister Alexei Likhachev said.

"Our concerns were justified. We knew that a whole range of economic operators wanted to use the opportunities that are opening up for supplies to Russia. But the decisions reached, like Ukraine's inclusion in the so-called anti-sanctions list of countries from which farm produce imports are restricted - those risks have been minimized," he said.
