Shoigu to inspect troops in Central Military District

OMSK. Feb 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Defense Minister Army Gen. Sergei Shoigu will check the progress in the construction of military training and social infrastructure at military units and academies in the Central Military District, Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov told journalists on Monday.

"Russian Defense Minister Army Gen. Sergei Shoigu has arrived on a working trip to the Central Military District. During the trip, the minister will inspect a number of formations and military units, and will check the status of the construction of military training, and social infrastructure at military units, and higher-education institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry in Central Siberia," he said.

In particular, during his visit to the Omsk garrison, the minister will hear reports from the CMD and Airborne Troops commands on how the educational process and combat training are organized at military schools, as well as, on the progress of the construction of military and social infrastructure. The minister will visit the Airborne Troops' 242nd Training Center and a tank engineering institute in Omsk.
