Moscow describes U.S. statements that Russia uses regular bombs in Syria as 'guesswork'

MOSCOW. Feb 10 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry rejects the statements made by U.S. officials about the alleged use by the Russian air force in Syria of regular bombs, leading to civilian deaths.

"We consider the public statements made by U.S. representatives that Russia uses regular bombs in Syria, allegedly killing civilians, as unacceptable. These are absolute wild guesses," Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told a briefing conference in Moscow on Wednesday.

This information "is not based on any facts", she added. "Russian Defense Ministry officials have already responded to this, but, regrettably, these allegations have been growing louder now, and this is obviously such a practice," Zakharova said.
