Medvedev expects Russia's European partners to make positive decision on Nord Stream II

MUNICH. Feb 13 (Interfax) - Some countries are trying to politicize the Nord Stream gas pipeline project, but some are displaying interest in its second phase, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said.

"Nord Stream II is on its way, but, unfortunately, as with any major undertaking, some countries are trying to artificially politicize this project, although we see that some countries are interested in the second phase of this project," Medvedev said at a meeting with members of the Russian and German business communities on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

Medvedev said he had recently discussed the matter with the Finnish prime minister, with Austrian government officials, and with other partners. "We hope a decision on this will be made after all," he said.
