Flu kills 289 in Ukraine - Health Ministry

KYIV. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Ukraine has registered 289 mortalities caused by the flu and its complications, confirmed by laboratory tests in the period from late September 2015 through February 15, the Ukrainian Health Ministry press service has said.

According to the operative data, 289 flu deaths were confirmed by laboratories, including four minors, younger than 17 years old, and two pregnant women, have been registered since the beginning of this epidemic season. Most flu deaths have occurred in the Odesa region (40), Kyiv (33), the Cherkassy region (20), the Donetsk region (19) and the Kharkiv region (18), says the report, posted on the ministry's website on Monday.
