Kyiv reports 24 shell attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas

KYIV. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Ukrainian positions in the special-operation zone in Donbas have been attacked 24 times so far on Tuesday, with mortars and grenades fired during the attacks, the Ukrainian military operation headquarters said in a statement.

"As well as grenade launchers and small arms, the enemy has increasingly been using mortar launchers against our fortifications," it said on its Facebook page on Tuesday evening.

There were four mortar attacks against Ukrainian strongholds near Krasnohorivka, the press center said.

Militiamen also fired 82 millimeter mortars against Ukrainian troops near Chermalyk, while near Krymske the enemy used 120 millimeter mortars and grenades.

In addition, small arms and various grenades were fired on Pisky, Opitne, Maryinka, Novhorodske and Verkhniotoretske, the press center said.
