Kremlin condemns Ankara terror act, sends condolences to victims' families - Peskov
MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The Kremlin resolutely condemns the February 17 terrorist attack in Ankara, offers condolences to the victims' families and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.
"The Kremlin condemns the terrorist act which occurred in Ankara yesterday in the most resolute manner, sends condolences to the families and friends of those killed and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured," he said.
"I would like to remind you that yesterday, at a press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Orban, President Putin said that in order to counter the challenges that we are facing today, and yesterday it was said in the context of the inflow of refugees, it is necessary, first and foremost, to resolve the problems standing at the roots of the crisis that we are now witnessing in that region," Peskov said, adding that these are efforts to neutralize the consequences of disintegration and destabilization in a whole number of states as soon as possible and to ensure their stability, unity and security.
"The president highlighted the fact that it is necessary to defeat terrorism in order to achieve this goal," Peskov said.
