DPR reports Zaitseve checkpoint opening by Ukrainian side
DONETSK. Feb 20 (Interfax) - The Zaitseve checkpoint in the north of Horlivka has reopened for cars after a two-week shutdown, the Donetsk news agency has reported, quoting a source in law enforcement agencies of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
"The Ukrainian side reopened the Zaitseve checkpoint for cars this morning," he told the news agency.
The Ukrainian army operation press center in Donbas said on Friday that the Zaitseve checkpoint in the Donetsk region would reopen on February 20.
The intensity of gunfire has tangibly declined at the checkpoint in recent days, the staff said. So, starting on February 20, residents of Donbas populated localities uncontrolled by the Kyiv authorities will be able to freely cross into the territory of Ukraine.
The Zaitseve checkpoint was shut down on February 3.
