Medvedev asks Gorkov to begin preparations for VEB supervisory board meeting
GORKI. Feb 29 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has asked newly appointed Vnesheconombank (VEB) chief Sergei Gorkov to begin preparations for the next meeting of the VEB supervisory board.
"I would ask you to immediately commence preparations for the next meeting of the supervisory board. We still have to set the date, but we won't delay, because the issues are piling up," Medvedev said at a meeting with Gorkov.
In a number of cases, the issues facing VEB are exclusively within the competence of the supervisory board, he said, adding that, according to Russian legislation, the government forms the supervisory board and Cabinet members hold seats.
