Nine-year-old Italian girl bound from Shanghai to Munich dies before emergency stopover in Krasnoyarsk

MOSCOW. March 1 (Interfax) - A nine-year-old girl died onboard an Airbus plane, flying from Shanghai to Munich, before the plane could make an emergency stopover in Krasnoyarsk, a source from emergency services told Interfax on Monday.

"The captain reported the sudden health deterioration of a passenger, a nine-year-old girl from Italy. It was decided to make an emergency landing in Krasnoyarsk. Yet, the child died by the time the plane touched down," the source said.

The parents refused to leave the body in Krasnoyarsk. "It was decided to keep the child's body onboard and to continue the flight," he said.
