Russia, UN not inclined to over-dramatize ceasefire violations in Syria - Lavrov

GENEVA. March 1 (Interfax) - Russia is not over-dramatizing sporadic truce violations in Syria, nor is the UN inclined to do so, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"There are individual violations, but neither our UN colleagues nor other partners are inclined to over-dramatize them. There can't be a truce without some excesses and incidents," Lavrov told journalists on Tuesday.

"The cessation of hostilities is coming into being and is becoming more stable," he said.

Lavrov said that, while meeting with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, "we continued to coordinate practical steps that the International Syria Support Group co-chaired by Russia and the U.S. is taking, including on the basis of the UN center in Geneva."

"Our common opinion coincides with the opinions of our American partners that we are moving in the right direction," he said.
