Ukrainian military wound their serviceman in fog by mistake, say militiamen
DONETSK. March 1 (Interfax) - Donetsk militiamen accused Ukrainian military commanders that a Ukrainian soldier was wounded due to their uncoordinated actions in Donbas.
"As part of preparations to an inspection of the personnel of the 54th separate mechanized brigade, who are on combat duty at the checkpoints, the committee of the superior headquarters has recorded the cases of reciprocal attacks between Ukrainian servicemen amid a strong fog," senior official with the Defense Ministry of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Eduard Basurin told reporters on Tuesday.
In the area of the Druzhba locality "when taking the positioning areas of the 30th separate mechanized brigade by units of the 54th separate mechanized brigade large-caliber small arms were fired against their own positions due to uncoordinated actions and mistakes by commanders," he said.
The same clash took place in the area of the localities Krasne, Vodyane and Kominternove, he said.
"The preparatory measures to an inspection resulted in the wounding of a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he said.
In this respect, he said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were completely unready to accomplish their tasks in the bad weather.
