Russian advertising market declines by 10% in 2015
MOSCOW. March 2 (Interfax) - The Russian advertising market for 2015 fell by 10% to 307.5 billion rubles (without VAT), experts from the Communications Agencies Association of Russia said.
The volume of advertisements on television channels, the largest segment of the market, last year fell 14% to 136.7 billion rubles. In particular, advertising budgets on cable (major) channels fell 14% to 134.2 billion rubles. Advertising on niche channels fell 38% to 2.5 billion rubles.
The internet advertising market in 2015 rose 15% to 97 billion rubles, due to an increase in context advertising by 20% to 78.3 billion rubles. The volumes of media advertising fell 2% to 18.7 billion rubles.
Outdoor advertising fell 21% to 32 billion rubles, radio advertising fell 16% to 14.2 billion rubles.
Spending by advertises fell the most in press: this market segment fell 29% in 2015 to 23.3 billion rubles. In particular, advertisements in newspapers fell 20% to 6.5 billion rubles, in magazines by 29% to 11.6 billion rubles.
