Zakharchenko signs Contact Group decisions on mine clearance, prohibition of live-fire exercises

DONETSK. March 4 (Interfax) - Alexander Zakharchenko, head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), said on Friday he had signed decisions of the Trilateral Contact Group regarding mine action and prohibition of live-fire exercises, an Interfax correspondent reported.

"I have signed these documents. I agree that checkpoints need to be demined [...] Roads must be cleared [...]," Zakharchenko said.

"We agree to move our ranges farther [...] I have signed this and I believe we can do so. But I can hardly [imagine] Ukraine complying with this. Our roadblocks are not mined, people crossing our roadblocks feel normal, and time will show what happens at Ukrainian roadblocks," Zakharchenko said.

Igor Plotnitsky, head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), signed documents regarding security in Donbas on Thursday.
