FSKN chief to take part in UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs session
MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - Chief of the State Antinarcotics Committee, chief of the Russian Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN) Viktor Ivanov will take part in a special segment of the 59th session of the UN Commission for Narcotic Drugs (CND) in Vienna, the FSKN press service told Interfax on Friday.
"Chief of the State Antinarcotics Committee Ivanov will pay a working visit to Vienna on March 14-16, where he will take part in a special segment of the 59th CND session as a 'high-level guest'," the press service said.
The meeting will address the preparation for the special session of the UN General Assembly on the global drug problem to be held later this year and will approve its final document, the press service said. Ivanov will speak at a CND special segment plenary session.
"A press conference at which Ivanov will speak about the results of the meeting and will present an analytical report of the Russian-Italian antinarcotics working group will take place at the UN International Center in Vienna in the wake of the plenary session," the press service reported.
Ivanov will meet with UNODC Executive Director Yury Fedotov on the sidelines of the CND session, the press service said.
