Yerevan supports Moscow in resistance to terrorism - Armenian parliament vice speaker
YEREVAN. March 11 (Interfax) - Armenia supports Russia in its struggle against terrorism, vice speaker of the Armenian parliament and head of the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Eduard Sharmazanov, said.
"I want to give assurances that Armenia sides with Russia in the fight against terrorism. We regard the downing of the Russian Sukhoi bomber by Turkey, and Azerbaijan's downing of an Armenian helicopter on the Karabakh-Azerbaijani border, as crimes," he said, at a briefing following the Friday session of the Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan.
He said that terrorism, Nazism and xenophobia pose "a real threat" to the CSTO area.
He also said that, during the presidency of Russian State Duma speaker Sergei Naryshkin at the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, "the parliamentary component of the organization increased."
