Putin, Israeli leader to discuss normalization of trade after 30% drop - Kremlin spokesman

MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold negotiations with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin to discuss steps to normalize bilateral trade turnover, which has shrunk by 30%, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The president has an international element on his agenda, namely a meeting with his Israeli counterpart, President Rivlin, who is on a visit to Moscow," Peskov told journalists.

Russia and Israel enjoy "very well-developed bilateral relations, a high level of mutual trust and economic ties," Peskov said. "We've seen quite a significant slump in our trade-economic relations, reaching 30%. Therefore, there is something to talk about in terms of restoring the previous level," Peskov said.

There are also a lot of other fields in which Russian-Israeli relations are developing intensively, he said.
