State Duma International Affairs Committee head to establish contact with Italian parliamentarians in Rome
MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - State Duma International Affairs Committee Chairman Alexei Pushkov will be visiting Rome on March 21-23 for negotiations and 'acceleration of contacts' with the heads of the Italian Parliament's Chamber of Deputies and Senate, Pushkov's press service has said.
"The negotiations will touch upon bilateral relations, the ongoing peace processes in Syria and Ukraine, prospective relations between the EU and Russia, including the mutual lifting of individual and economic sanctions, and pressing European security matters," the report said.
Pushkov will meet with Chamber of Deputies Vice-Speaker, head of the group for relations with the State Duma Simone Baldelli, Senate Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Pier Casini, Chamber of Deputies Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Fabrizio Cicchitto, head of the Socialist Group in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Michele Nicoletti, head of the Italian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Andrea Manciulli, and the leaders of major Italian political parties, Forward Italy (Forza Italia), Northern League and others.
