Russian, Qatari diplomats discuss Syria, Persian Gulf
MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Mikhail Bogdanov, and Qatari Ambassador to Russia, Saoud Al Mahmoud ,discussed the situation in Syria, and in the Gulf area, and upcoming contacts at the ministerial level at a meeting on Tuesday.
Bogdanov and Al Mahmoud "addressed aspects of stepping up mutually beneficial Russian-Qatari ties in various fields, including upcoming contacts between the Foreign Ministries and other relevant ministries and institutions," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its website following Bogdanov's meeting with Al Mahmoud.
"The conversation included an exchange of opinions on relevant aspects of the regional agenda, primarily those concerning the situation in Syria, in the Persian Gulf zone, and in the Horn of Africa area," the ministry said.
