Kyiv expects to discuss Savchenko's sentence, Donbas elections, security in Minsk
KYIV/DONETSK. March 23 (Interfax) - The political and security subgroups of the Trilateral Contact Group for Ukraine are holding a joint meeting in Minsk on Wednesday, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry has said.
"A joint meeting of the political and security subgroups of the Trilateral Contact Group for Ukraine is underway in Minsk," the ministry tweeted.
In the words of Ukrainian representative to the political subgroup Roman Bessmertny, the Trilateral Contact Group was due to focus on security verification, transitional justice and election modalities on Wednesday, the newspaper Ukrayinska Pravda said.
The sentence handed down to Ukrainian pilot, Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadiya Savchenko and the ban on Russian travel of Ukrainian representative to the political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group, parliament deputy Iryna Herashchenko will also be discussed at the meeting, Bessmertny said.
The humanitarian subgroup also converged on Wednesday, the press service of Denis Pushilin, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) negotiator, reported.
