Brussels attack 'direct challenge' to global community - Patrushev

MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax) - The terrorist attacks in Brussels represent a direct challenge to the global community, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has said.

After the attacks in Brussels, Patrushev sent a condolence telegram to the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister, Interior Minister Jan Jambon, a spokesperson for the Russian Security Council told Interfax on Wednesday.

"In his telegram, Nikolai Patrushev expressed condolences over the terrorist attacks that occurred in Brussels on March 22, and also stressed that terrorism is an evil that threatens all states," the spokesperson said.

"The secretary of the Russian Security Council noted that he sees the terrorist attacks in Brussels as a direct challenge to the global community," the spokesperson said.
