U.S. wants to continue cooperating with Russia in geology, subsurface use - resources ministry

MOSCOW. March 23 (Interfax) - Russia and the United States are ready to develop cooperation in geology and subsurface mineral use, the Russian Natural Resources Ministry said in a statement.

The joint work of the countries in the area was discussed during a working meeting with the head of the department of international program for the U.S. Geological Service, Ingrid Verstraeten, which took place at the Russian Natural Resources Ministry. At the meeting prospects for further cooperation were discussed with consideration of Russian interests.

The United States expressed the wish to send the Russian Natural Resources Ministry proposals for further cooperation in this sector.
