Ukraine assisted on certain aspects of investigation into 'Savchenko case' - Investigative Committee

MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - During the investigation into the criminal case against Nadiya Savchenko, Russian investigators received a response to their request made to Ukraine for her characteristics, Vladimir Markin from the Investigative Committee said.

"In response to our request for legal assistance [made to Ukraine], we received information on where Savchenko was trained and how she performed in her military service. This helped us conduct another expert evaluation, which helped understand that she could work as a [fire] navigator," Markin said on Vesti FM radio on Friday.

Markin said Savchenko was trained as an operator of an anti-tank guided missile.

"Our experts in the sphere of aviation and artillery determined that a person with such qualifications was fully capable of navigating fire," Markin said.
