Brussels tragedy confirms reasonableness of Putin's initiative on forming broad anti-terrorist front - Lavrov

MOSCOW. March 25 (Interfax) - The March 22 terrorist attacks in Brussels highlighted the relevance of Russia's initiative to form an international anti-terrorist front, and this issue was discussed with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.

"The terrible terrorist acts in Brussels come as confirmation of the reasonableness of the initiative submitted by President Vladimir Putin to the UN to form a broad international anti-terrorist front," he said in his speech at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"These matters remain at the center of our international contacts, including this week's meetings with the foreign minister of Germany and the U.S. secretary of state and today's upcoming meeting with the foreign minister of the Italian Republic," Lavrov said.
