Pamfilova not ruling out leading Central Election Commission
MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - Ella Pamfilova has said that she is ready to chair the Central Election Commission if she is offered to.
When asked by Interfax whether she is ready to lead the CEC, should she receive such an offer, Pamfilova said: "The fact that I went to the CEC already [means] I am prepared to work there in any capacity."
The CEC is expected to elect its chairperson at the first meeting on March 28.
On March 25 the State Duma voted for Pamfilova's early resignation after she was selected to the CEC under a presidential quota. Experts named her as one of the likeliest candidates for the CEC chairperson.
