Rate of grain export growth for Russia accelerates to 5.5% - AgMin

MOSCOW. March 28 (Interfax) - During this agriculture year (from July 1, 2015 until March 23, 2016), Russia exported 27.375 million tonnes of grain, which is 5.5% more than in the same period of the previous agricultural year (25.943 million tonnes), the Agriculture Ministry said with reference to operating data of the Federal Customs Service (FCS).

The growth rate of grain exports accelerated, a week earlier it amounted to 4.3%.

The main export was wheat 20.038 million tonnes (19.351 million tonnes for the same period in the previous agricultural year). Barley supplies amounted to 3.808 million tonnes (4.27 million tonnes), corn - 3.299 million tonnes (1.914 million tonnes. The export of other crops fell to 230,000 tonnes from 408,000 tonnes in the previous agricultural year.

As at March 24, the average export price for soft wheat in the United States (Gulf of Mexico) for last week amounted to $189 per tonne. For the week the price did not change.
