India favors Syrian dialogue without pre-conditions, outside meddling - ambassador

MOSCOW. March 30 (Interfax) - India supports the Russian Aerospace Forces' operation in Syria and favors an intra-Syrian dialogue without outside interference, India's Ambassador to Russia Pankaj Saran has said.

"We support an independent Syrian dialogue without pre-conditions and outside interference, the territorial integrity and firmness of Syria," Saran said on the Rossiya-24 (VGTRK) television channel, when asked if Indian considers Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to be legitimate.

India supports all global attempts undertaken by Russia in the framework of the UN agreement in the fight against terrorist forces, the ambassador said.

"Both our countries are deeply concerned by this problem," he said.
