Pace of growth in grain exports accelerates to 6.6%; exports at 28.1 mln tonnes - Agriculture Ministry

MOSCOW. April 1 (Interfax) - Russian grain exports in the current agricultural year (July 2015-June 2016) through March 30 totaled 28.083 million tonnes, up from 26.335 million tonnes exported in the same period of the 2014/2015 farm year, the Agriculture Ministry reported, citing operational data from the Federal Customs Service.

The export growth accelerated to 6.6%, up from the 5.5% last week.

Wheat exports in the farm year so far total 20.581 million tonnes, up from 19.465 million tonnes last year. Corn exports totaled 3.379 million tonnes, up from 1.963 million tonnes.

Barley exports declined to 3.88 million tonnes from 4.482 million tonnes.

Exports of other grain crops totaled 243,000 tonnes, down from 425,000 tonnes.
