CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha continues consultations with Armenia in regard of escalation of Karabakh conflict

MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha on Sunday had phone negotiations with Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian and Armenian Foreign Minister Eduard Nalbandian on Karabakh settlement issues, CSTO press secretary Vladimir Zainetdinov told Interfax-AVN.

"New negotiations between the CSTO secretary general and the defense and foreign ministers of Armenia took place today. They addressed the situation in the conflict zone," Zainetdinov said.

Zainetdinov reiterated that the CSTO is in permanent contact with the Armenian administration and is getting exhaustive information on the development of the situation.

The CSTO comprises Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. Under the Collective Security Treaty, the CSTO potential can be used for ensuring the security of one of members of the organization only in the event of an appropriate request.
