Russia does not accuse Turkey of violence escalation in Karabakh - Lavrov

MOSCOW. April 4 (Interfax) - Russia is not accusing Turkey of the escalation of conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.

"We are not accusing any foreign actors of sparking the ongoing outbreak of tensions, and we are not accusing Ankara of this either," Lavrov said at a press conference after negotiations with his Moldovan counterpart.

"We can state the attempts [to thwart the settlement process] of those who do not like the fundamental approaches to the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement," the Russian foreign minister said.

Those approaches "were declared in numerous documents between Russia, France and the United States, including documents signed at the summit level, by the presidents of three countries, to envisage the exclusively peaceful, political settlement of the Karabakh conflict, which can have no military solution," Lavrov said.
