Georgian president reaffirms course towards European integration, entry into NATO

TBILISI. April 5 (Interfax) - Georgia will enter into the European Union and NATO, and this will contribute to regional peace and stability, Georgian President Giorgi Margvelashvili said on Tuesday.

"We firmly declare that Georgia has no doubts about its future. We clearly say that our cultural and political future lies with the European Union," Margvelashvili said at a Georgia-NATO citizen diplomacy forum in Tbilisi.

Georgia sees NATO as 'a security umbrella' and this integration will definitely happen, he said.

Georgia's affiliation will strengthen the North Atlantic alliance, which will contribute to peace and stability in countries of the region and the world at large, Margvelashvili said.
