Stepanakert denies Baku's claims that 70 Armenian soldiers were killed in Karabakh, HQ destroyed
YEREVAN. April 5 (Interfax) - The Defense Ministry of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic has denied the Azerbaijani side's report that a military base, located in the vicinity of the city of Matagis (Magadiz), was destroyed and 70 Armenian servicemen killed in the conflict area.
"Unlike Azerbaijan, we are not concealing the data on our losses and are providing full-scale information at this point in time. The figure of 70 has nothing in common with reality. The data on our losses has been published. As far as the allegedly destroyed military base is concerned, I can also say that it is a lie," Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Ministry spokesman Senor Hasratyan told Interfax.
Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry said earlier that 70 Armenian soldiers had been killed and up to 20 units of Armenian military hardware destroyed in the Karabakh conflict area in the past 24 hours.
The ministry's press service also said that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces had destroyed the headquarters of the Armenian Armed Forces' major military base located in the strategically important locality of Magadiz (Matagis) in the Karabakh conflict area.
