Conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh should be settled as soon as possible - Azerbaijani foreign minister
BAKU. April 7 (Interfax) - The conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh should be settled as soon as possible, says Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
"This is a conflict that needs to be overcome and in which a breakthrough should be achieved within the shortest possible time," Mammadyarov said at a press conference with the Russian and Iranian foreign ministers in Baku on Thursday.
"The armed forces must be returned to the barracks. This needs to be done in the first place," he said.
"There is the risk that some might have an illusion that, by some tricks and ruses, the existing status quo on the ground can be perpetuated, but I think it's time to approach a concrete resolution of the issue," he said.
