Iran preparing documents for beef, fish shipments from Russia

MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - Iran is preparing documents for shipments of frozen boneless beef and fish from Russia, the Federal Veterinary and Phyto-Sanitary Oversight Service (Rosselkhoznadzor) said after teleconference negotiations with Iran's veterinary service on Tuesday.

"The veterinary organization of Iran said that it will soon complete the analysis and send an agreed draft protocol to Rosselkhoznadzor on shipments of boneless frozen beef from Russia to Iran. In addition, the Iranian side is continuing work on approving veterinary certificates for shipments of fish products from Russia," the watchdog said in a statement.

Rosselkhoznadzor also expects Iran to make a decision on granting three Russian poultry producers the right to export to Iran. The veterinary and sanitary requirements for frozen poultry meat that would be shipped to Iran have already been sent to the Russian watchdog.

Iran's veterinary authority has also confirmed its intention to visit Rosselkhoznadzor's Federal Animal Health Center in order to obtain Russian know-how regarding the manufacture of highly effective vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease.
