Gazprom settles disagreements on price with Turkish private importers before yearend - source

MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - Gazprom has settled disagreements about the purchase price of gas with Turkish private importers before the end of 2016, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax.

Starting on February 10, Gazprom cut gas supplies for private Turkish importers by 10% due to a price dispute. In 2016 Gazprom announced its intentions to cancel the 10.25% discount on the gas price, which was in place since January 1, 2015, for six private Turkish gas importers: Bosphorus Gaz, Enerco Enerji, Bati Hatti, Kibar Enerji, Avrasya Gaz and Shell Enerji.

The companies called this a breach of contract and planned to dispute this in arbitration court.

In 2015 Gazprom supplied Turkey with 27 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas after 27.33 bcm in 2014. Turkey is the second largest buyer of gas after Germany among non-CIS countries. The total volume of purchases of Russian gas by private Turkish importers amounts to about 10 bcm a year.
