Ukraine's Rada confirms new cabinet composition agreed by coalition on April 13

KYIV. April 14 (Interfax) - Ukraine's parliament, Verkhovna Rada, has confirmed the new composition of the country's cabinet, which was agreed upon at the coalition's assembly on Wednesday and was presented by recently appointed Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman at parliament's morning session.

A total of 239 MPs voted in favor of the relevant resolution at a Verkhovna Rada session on Thursday.

The post of health minister remains vacant, because no candidate was agreed upon during the consultations.

Ukrainian MP and the president's representative to parliament, Stepan Kubiv, was appointed to the post of first deputy prime minister and economic development and trade minister.

First deputy chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Foreign Affairs Committee Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze became Ukraine's deputy prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration, Social Policy Minister Pavlo Rozenko became first deputy prime minister for social policy, and former First Deputy Minister for Housing and Communal Services Volodymyr Kistion was given the post of deputy prime minister for the occupied territories and temporary displaced persons.

Deputy Prime Minister and Housing and Communal Services Minister Hennadiy Zubko kept his post in the new government. Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, who previously held the post of deputy prime minister and culture minister, kept his post of deputy prime minister.

Chief of the parliament speaker's secretariat Oleksandr Sayenko became a cabinet minister as well.

Presidential administration deputy chief Oleksandr Danylyuk was appointed Ukraine's new finance minister, Vinnytsia Deputy Mayor Andriy Reva became social policy minister, first deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee for integration into Europe Ostap Semerak, became ecology and natural resources minister, while the post of culture minister was given to Honored Artist of Ukraine Yevhen Nyshchuk, who held this job previously.

Head of parliament's education and science committee Liliya Hrynevych was appointed as education and science minister, chairman of parliament's committee for agrarian policy and land relations Taras Kutovoy was appointed minister for agrarian policy and food, Vadym Chernysh was given the post of minister for the occupied territories and temporary displaced persons, while Ihor Nasalik became Ukraine's new minister for energy and the coal industry.

Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak, Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko, Information Policy Minister Yuriy Stets, and Youth and Sports Minister Ihor Zhdanov kept their posts in the new government.

Acting Infrastructure Minister Volodymyr Omelyan has been confirmed as infrastructure minister.
