Russia ready to consider request on equipping Somalia's security forces - Lavrov
MOSCOW. April 19 (Interfax) - Russia will be ready to help equip Somalia's security forces in order to fight against terrorism.
"We know that during your visit, you would like to give maximum attention to the issue of equipping Somalia's security forces for the fight against terrorism. Russia will be ready to consider the relevant request of our Somali friends," Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a meeting with Somalia's Prime Minister Omar Sharmarke.
Sharmarke, for his part, said, that, indeed, during his visit he would like to "ask for Russia's support in an effort to bolster the security forces in order to combat terrorism, and would like to request support to develop the country's economy."
