Russia expects to discuss ASEAN-EEU cooperation at summit in Sochi - Putin
MOSCOW. April 20 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin expects that cooperation between ASEAN and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will be discussed at a Russia-ASEAN summit in Sochi on May 19-20.
"We intend to discuss the possibility of normalizing cooperation between the ASEAN countries and the Eurasian Economic Union," Putin said while accepting credentials from a number of foreign ambassadors on Wednesday.
The Russian leader said he was sure that "the summit's work will help generally improve confidence and cooperation on the entire Eurasian expanse."
The summit "will make it possible to sum up the outcomes of the 20-year productive interaction between Russia and the South Asian states and also plan new promising projects," he said.
