Stepanakert accuses Azerbaijan of killing Karabakh serviceman
STEPANAKERT. April 21 (Interfax) - The Azerbaijani army sporadically delivers strikes, which kill Karabakh servicemen, in violation of the April 5 agreement on the cessation of fire, the press service of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Defense Ministry told Interfax on Thursday.
"NKR Defense Army serviceman Marat Danielyan, born in 1984, suffered a lethal injury in an aggressive move of the enemy in the northern [Talish] sector at 6:30 a.m. local time," the press service said.
The incident is being investigated.
"The NKR Defense Ministry announces that full responsibility for the exacerbating situation on the frontline rests with the Azerbaijani side," the press service said.
The press service of the NKR Defense Ministry told Interfax earlier they observed over 70 Azerbaijani violations by use of various types of firearms, mortars and grenade launchers in the early hours of Thursday.
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry press service said, in turn, that the Armenian army had breached the truce 120 times along the contact line in the past 24 hours.
